| In response to a recent decision by Rajasthan High Court, the shops, commercial establishments, artisans' courtyard, and restaurants at Amber Fort in Jaipur have all been shut down by the archeological and museum department officials. This has come as a huge blow to Rajasthan Tourism and North India Tourism industry. The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) is now looking for alternate option for its elite Palace-On-Wheel tourists, who have already been promised with a sumptuous lunch in the royal ambience of the Fort. The court states that commercial activities can be damaging to the invaluable heritage monument of Jaipur and hence, cannot be allowed to continue at any cost. It also said that the preservation, restoration and renovation work assigned to the Amer Development and Management Authority could not be assigned to someone below the rank of Director in the Archeology department or at least a Collector at the special notice issued by the State Government.
